Denny Darrow

Vice President & Advisor

Denny brings more than 22 years of strategic leadership experience in human resources and employee healthcare to FirstPerson. In his role as Vice President & Advisor, he works alongside mid to large-size organizations to create and implement best in class benefit and total rewards strategies. Denny has an appetite for rolling up his sleeves and taking on any challenge that comes his way.

Denny most recently served as Vice President of Human Resources for Celadon Group, Inc. He is a Boilermaker through and through as he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Purdue University, served as the Vice President of Human Resources for the university and cheers on his alma mater in football and basketball each season. For six years, he also led the State of Indiana’s performance culture renaissance and healthcare strategy as State Personnel Director and Chief of Staff for both Governors Mitch Daniels and Mike Pence.

Denny has served as Chairman of the Employer’s Forum of Indiana, a coalition of employers, healthcare providers, hospitals and insurers, where he facilitated a high degree of engagement to help employers get the most value for their healthcare dollar. Nationally, Denny has spoken to audiences through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the National Governor’s Association (NGA), the State and Local Government Benefit Association (SALGBA) and the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) on health and well-being, healthcare transparency, and effective human resources leadership.

When he’s not out serving the community and public speaking, you’ll either find Denny on the golf course or hiking at a state or national park.
