Academic rigor meets hands-on experience in the FirstPerson MBA Board Fellows Program. And FirstPerson’s objective in partnering with Butler University is to train and empower leaders early in their careers to engage in meaningful civic work. The program is modeled on CEO and Founder Bryan Brenner’s commitment to Butler and the Central Indiana community.
This collaborative partnership between students, faculty, and local businesses emphasizes blending theory and practice in a flexible, self-paced, and student-focused environment. Through the FirstPerson MBA Board Fellows program, students apply for a semester-long opportunity to engage with an Indianapolis nonprofit, learning first-hand about the organization’s mission and impact, governance, operations, and sustainability.
Student Fellows complete a project designed to advance that mission, working alongside the board of trustees and a select mentor. Classroom discussions create context and a platform for shared learning. It’s a thoughtful and rich experience for all.
The FirstPerson MBA Board Fellows program is one of the ways by which we serve our community. Perhaps you might be inspired to participate!
